I Like Living with Mom Because…

In a previous post, I wrote about how frustrating it can be living with my mother (again). There are, of course, two sides to every story and I decided to write down a few things that have been good about living with mom again.

Necessities

  • She always has a tissue and hard candy when I need one (and offers a hard candy when we are going somewhere).

Enjoyable Activities and New Traditions

  • We celebrate holidays and birthdays (mine and hers) together. Not living close to each other, for many years, we celebrated those happy times apart.

  • She enjoys bonding over a cocktail while watching the sunset.

  • When my girlfriends come over, she joins us for some old-fashioned girl talk.

The Finer Things Are Meant To Be Used Anytime

  • She appreciates the fact that eating on the “good” China is not only for special occasions (and does not complain that everything must be handwashed). “Things are meant to be used and enjoyed not saved,” she says.

Good Advice and Praise

She reminds me that I am blessed and not to sweat the small stuff because life is too short.

She tells me how proud she is of me.
